Reporting to the Finance Manager, we are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Team at Balmoral Comtec. Looking for a driven individual to work within a fast-paced environment. The position will include taking on a variety of tasks and will require the successful candidate to have an appetite to learn, develop and progress. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to come in and use and develop their accounting skills in a friendly and cooperative environment. You will have to manage several stakeholder expectations and be accountable for delivering all information in a timely, reliable, and accurate manner.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBHOLDER
Individual will be exposed to multiple areas of Finance team and will aid with the following:
- Assisting with the preparation of month end management accounts within set deadlines
- Assisting with the monthly preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing costs against budgets, forecasts and assisting with variance reporting to explain variances and unexpected costs
- Preparation and review of Monthly KPI’s
- Preparation of 13 week and annual cashflow forecasts. Analysis of cash movements and assisting with cash forecasting
- Accountable for stock – Attendance at stock counts, processing of stock adjustments and investigating anomalies, analysing monthly movements and assistance with forecasting and provisioning
- Assistance in analysing and forecasting working capital
- Inputting data into various reporting packages and ensuring full accuracy
- Assistance with annual budget and 5-year business plan process
- Assistance with annual audit process
- Assisting with the development of other Finance staff
- Liaising with internal business stakeholders and external contacts to unwind queries and seek authorisation for processing where required
- Support background work required for ad hoc Finance Projects
- Adherence to all company policies, financial processes, and controls
- Holiday cover for ad hoc team tasks
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications
Required:
- Qualified by experience, part qualified or fully qualified considered
Desirable:
- Working towards or a desire to undertake an accounting qualification (Company support available)
Experience
Required:
- 2-3 years accounting experience in a similar role, with Balance Sheet reconciliation and financial analysis experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Desirable:
- Experience with modern Data Science techniques such as Power BI / Power Query
