Balmoral Offshore Engineering, a division of Balmoral Group, provides surface and subsurface buoyancy, insulation and elastomer products and services to the global energy, defence, subsea communications and oceanographic industries.

We are looking for a CNC Miller/ Programmer to join our team.

Working in a small team of skilled and semi-skilled operators you will adhere to all appropriate quality and safety procedures, you will be responsible for the machining of products made from composite materials. Candidates with previous metal experience skills would be suitable.

The machining process includes minor editing of CNC programs, and working closely with support groups to decide machining methodology on both 5 axis mills. CNC programs will be provided for the 5 axis work.

4. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBHOLDER

  • Set up and run 4/5 axis milling machine.

  • Machining of Balmoral Buoyancy products to conform to drawing tolerances

  • Ability to work a three-shift system covering 5 days.

  • The aptitude to work more than one machine at a time. (due to long running cycles)

  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions

  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.

  • Provide holiday and absence cover for programming duties.

     

    Experience & Education

  • Ideally you will be a time served machinist with a strong engineering background.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Experience in operating of Fanuc, Siemens and Heidenhain controls would be advantageous.

  • Have capability and skill to move problems quickly when required.

  • On and offsite training in use of Autodesk Powermill software will be provided to the successful candidate.

  • Knowledge of Powermill, Mastercam or Edgecam or similar software would also be an advantage.
