We are currently seeking a highly motivated CNC Operator to join us at our Thurnscoe Site. 

Brief Description of the role 

As a CNC Operator, you will handle multiple types of equipment including CNC press brake, CNC laser, and CNC punch. You will be instrumental in the fabrication of metal components, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications. This role offers opportunities for advancement into CNC programming and other technical skills through on-the-job training. 

 

Main Duties  

  • Operate CNC press brake, laser cutter, and punch machines safely and efficiently in line with company policies and procedure. 

  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate parts accurately. 

  • Perform set-up and calibration of machines to ensure optimal operation. 

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to uphold machine performance and product quality. 

  • Monitor machine performance, including tool wear and quality control, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production standards. 

Experience: 

  • Advanced experience in operating at least one of the following CNC machines: press brake, CNC laser, or CNC punch. Familiarity with machine programming is beneficial. 

  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to produce accurate components. 

  • Familiarity with programming and setting up CNC machines is desirable, and willingness to undergo training for CNC programming is required. 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality consciousness to ensure precision fabrication. 

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the fabrication of metal components, is preferred.
