Design Engineer
Location: Balmoral Tanks Limited, Thurnscoe, Rotherham (with occasional UK and overseas travel)

About the Role
We are looking for a Design Engineer to work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to achieve project‑specific design approvals. You will play a key role in design liaison activities and attend design review meetings both internally and with clients as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, detailed, to‑scale drawings compliant with industry and health and safety standards, including tank general arrangements, tank sheet projection/CNC drawings, access steelwork and roof structure drawings, using AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
- Maintain drawing control through Vault for each assigned project and liaise with Sales and Contracts departments.
- Calculate costs and use engineering principles to assess feasibility of manufacture and construction.
- Produce Manufacturing Lists for assigned projects.
- Work with Contracts Managers and site personnel on construction and tank installation technicalities.
- Liaise with Production Planning and Manufacturing teams on fabrication details.
- Operate a safe working environment in line with company policies and procedures.
- Create high‑quality, detailed technical drawings and plans from supplied designs and make modifications to existing drawings.
Financial Accountability
- Understand design budgets and work within costed activities to ensure design costs do not exceed budget.

Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths, English, Science, Technology or a relevant CAD‑related BTEC/City & Guilds certificate (preferably Autodesk AutoCAD).
- Autodesk Inventor (iLogic experience advantageous).
- Vault Pro.

- Experience working in a design team on detailed designs.
