Balmoral Tanks Ltd is a leading European engineering design and manufacturing company. As a result of significant investment in people and plant, the company produces what is believed to be the most comprehensive range of tank products available for a single source in the EU.

We are looking for a working Fabricator/Welder Team Leader to join the team at our Manufacturing facility in Thurnscoe. This is an integral role within the business, the successful candidate will be a working team leader where they will lead, motive & supervise the welding & fabrication team to ensure daily work is conducted in a safe manner and in conformance to all Balmoral procedures.

Main duties and responsibilities of the jobholder

  • Operate a safe working environment in line with company policies & procedures.
  • Maintaining records of personal development and training.
  • To accurately read technical drawings which are provided by the design team.
  • Undertake any welding works required to ensure the correct and safe production of tank components.
  • Maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • To fabricate items in mild steel and stainless steel including marking out setting up and welding.
  • Mig/tig welding.
  • Keeping scrap to a minimum
  • Wear all PPE at all times when carrying out works and when around the factory.
  • Display HSE on site at all times to the required Balmoral standards.
  • To produce / finish / assemble products in the most efficient manner to the correct quality and quantity to meet the planned production schedules.
  • Leading , Motivating , supervising and training all team members in your area of responsibility.  Available to attend external training courses as required.
  • Attend and Participate in daily production meetings, taking actions as required.
  • Adopt a pro-active approach to resolve problems in the production process by involving other support departments as necessary to find solution.
  • Carry out performance reviews, return to work meeting, involvement with recruitment when required.
  • Guiding, mentoring & supporting apprentices.
  • Assist with the weekly stock count.
