Balmoral Tanks Ltd is a leading European engineering design and manufacturing company. As a result of significant investment in people and plant, the company produces what is believed to be the most comprehensive range of tank products available for a single source in the EU.

We are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to undertaking Site Surveys for project estimation and investigations.

Customer interaction will play a key part of the role liaising with the client and sub-contract installation companies, ensuring they work safely, to the agreed project work scope in terms of quality, agreed completion dates and display behaviours in line with the core values of the business.

There is a particular focus on customer service levels which is key to how Balmoral differentiates itself from competitors. We regard our service levels as our sustainable competitive advantage.

The role is supported by dedicated administration teams based at our Thurnscoe and Staveley manufacturing facilities.

Continuous improvement underpins everything the business is aiming to achieve & the incumbent must operate with this ethos in mind. You will go about your role displaying high levels of initiative, drive & enthusiasm; you will be expected to act as an ambassador & role model for our business.

Main duties and responsibilities of the jobholder

  • To monitor, support and report daily on all allocated projects to ensure sub-contracted companies carry-out the works safely, to agreed contract agreement and provide service levels to all customers which are in line with the core values of the business.
  • Monitor and report daily, weekly progress to senior management on all projects highlighting the contractor’s performance against the project plan.
  • Ensure client concerns relating to the adherence to agreed RAMS, performance, behaviour, local H&S policy are brought to senior management immediately. Engage with the client to reassure and confirm BTL are aware of the situation and are dealing with the situation positively and immediately.
  • Maintaining the client’s confidence and trust in BTL is of paramount importance.
  • Support the sales teams where required via site visits for non-standard and major projects, to ensure accuracy in quotation and deliverables on each project.
  • Visibility on site in regard to project management / assistance on major projects & customer concerns.
  • Where required attend pre-start site survey / contract meetings to ensure you build on strong personal relationships with all clients. 
  • Feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement and business growth. RFT (Right First Time).
