Balmoral Tanks Ltd is a leading Global engineering design and manufacturing company. As a result of significant investment in people and plant, the company produces what is believed to be the most comprehensive range of tank products available for a single source in the EU.

We require an Production Office Assistant to join our busy Production team in Thurnscoe, Rotherham.

Brief Description of the job’s function

To be able to cover and assist all functions within the production office as and when required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate a safe working environment in line with company policies & procedures.
  • Daily completion of bulk packing
  • Weekly issuing of drawings to the factory
  • Daily issuing of production records to factory operatives
  • Conducting cycle counts and reviewing any variances to correct the system to reflect actual stock levels
  • Sending recovery information to finance on a weekly basis
  • The below would need to be covered in the case of absence:

CNC programming – both the laser and punch

Plan new jobs into the production schedule considering customer demand and factory capacity

Review revenue to ensure we are meeting business forecast

Review 3-month labour forecast to meet capacity demand to satisfy customer requirements

Review capacity plan to ensure we are on track to meet FDD’s

  • Ad hoc duties within the operations team.

Skills & Abilities

  • Good presentation, written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be an innovative thinker and commercially aware
  • Must be willing to develop interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be computer literate particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word and Engineering software packages for which further training will be provided.

  • Mature and customer focused attitude (able to handle difficult discussions and customer complaints) is essential.
  • A belief in the fact that customers are revenue & everything else is overhead is essential.
