Balmoral Tanks Ltd is a leading European engineering design and manufacturing company. As a result of significant investment in people and plant, the company produces what is believed to be the most comprehensive range of tank products available from  a single source in the EU.

Civil engineering, wastewater treatment, drainage, rainwater harvesting, bulk liquid, fire fighting and potable water storage sectors are all key sectors for the company.

We are looking for a Production Planner to join our team.

Brief Description

  • Safeguard smooth operations throughout the manufacturing and distribution departments.

  • Ensures goods manufactured are produced in a cost-effective way that meet stringent quality specifications.

  • Ensures the manufacture and distribution of products runs smoothly throughout the business.

  • Prepare and issue daily reports on manufacturing efficiencies and productivity.

  • Liaises with the sales department to fully determine customer requirements and expectations.

  • Ensure stock accuracy is maintained and recorded.

  • Review and accurately maintain all manufacturing costs.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure master production schedules are kept up to date and live on a daily basis.

  • Understand and control timings of all manufacturing to ensure accurate and timely work can be planned throughout the manufacturing department.

  • Help and assist in the development of new systems as and when required to improve communications within the manufacturing department.

  • Improve workflow between departments.

  • Supply daily efficiency and productivity data to the Manufacturing Director.

  • Ensure manufacturing costing’s are maintained and accurate.

  • Enter new projects onto the master database.

  • Alter and amend the production lists after liaising with internal customers.

  • Review job files for information and correctness before commencing manufacture.

  • Issue work instructions / plan to the Manufacturing Manager.

  • Order and liaise key suppliers.

  • Liaise with the design department to obtain file availability to issue packing lists, fabrication lists and any list that needs issuing for manufacture, enabling goods to be produced on time in full for the customer.

  • Produce weekly paint plant schedules and detail daily feedback from the plant to analyse and report on.

  • To produce sheet steel planning lists to ensure we have full cost visibility.

  • Contract stock levels and liaise with accounts at month end to count and record usage for incoming invoices.

  • Invoice management.

  • Set up temp system to record all production activities and recovery rates.

  • Costing adhoc projects.

  • Excellent computer skills (including knowledge of Great Plains), MS packages.
  • Good education with a high standard of numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Ability to prepare and analyse date, both numerical and graphical.

  • Positive attitude towards change.

  • To able to handle tight deadlines in a calm manner.
