We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join the Elastomer team. Leading a team, your role will be to ensure daily work is conducted in a safe manner and in conformance with all Balmoral procedural requirements. In addition you will ensure that all works are planned, co-ordinated, supervised and administered as per the requirements of all instructions / procedures and schedules issued and ensure, in conjunction with QC, Team Leaders and operators that all documentation is filled in accordingly and that QC inspections are completed prior to despatching any product.
Within some departments we operate a shift system, a shift allowance is paid while working on back and night shift which increases the standard hourly rate by time +1/6 and time + 1/3. There is also the opportunity to work overtime during busy periods. Due to rotating shift and safety requirements applicants must be at least aged 18 or over.
Roles and Responsibilities

To ensure that all employees are made fully aware of Health and Safety issues in their area of work and that all Safe systems of work and Risk Assessments are in place and that all operators are effectively trained.

Responsible to ensure all incidents and unsafe acts are reported and correctly investigated in conjunction with HSE dept, management and company policy.

Conduct Polymer process fault finding and implementing of root cause analysis outcomes.

To join multi-discipline teams to understand and eradicate Polymer process issues and report outcomes.

Conduct Tool Box Talks as required by management

Supervisor is responsible for and to encourage and promote the Team Leaders and Operators to maintain a Safe Working environment in their area of work and to maintain housekeeping to standards set by management

To produce / finish / assemble products in the most efficient manner to the correct quality and quantity to meet the planned production schedules.

Realising agreed efficiency objectives and Goals as set out by management

Leading, motivating, supervising and training all Production Operators / Team Leaders in your area of responsibility

Ensure that all production and quality documentation and timesheets are filled in correctly by the Production operators. Identifying and providing Training as required to ensure this is done effectively

To maintain quality of the product (s) and working to WIS / Procedures issued for a specific task.

To provide daily feedback and updates to your manager on the progress of allocated work and projects

To organise an effective handover to the next shift Supervisor taking over in your area

To conduct Effective Team Briefs at beginning of each shift

Educate workforce on Polymer material and machines.

Attend and participate in daily production meetings if required, taking actions as required

Adopt a pro-active approach to resolve problems in the production process by involving other support departments as necessary to find solution

Ensure that Personnel within your area are fully trained in all aspects of their work duties and that only trained operators are using Overhead Cranes / Forklifts / Machinery and Equipment

To further develop personnel competencies records and to drive continued skill base development of the production operators and teams. Providing regular performance feed back to the team members.

First point of contact for holiday requests. Checking the holiday planner against workload and making recommendation to whether it should go for manager review / approval

Dealing in first instance with nonattendance and time keeping issues. Reporting to the Production Manager and discussing with the team member

Other special projects and “ad hoc” duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
Required:

Previous supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

Experience of following, compiling and implementing procedures

IT literate

Excellent communication skills
