Are you a talented designer with a passion for engineering and turning concepts into reality? At Balmoral Tanks Ltd, we're looking for a Project Designer to join our growing Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, producing detailed designs and technical drawings for industry-leading storage tank solutions used across the UK and internationally. Working closely with customers, production teams, and project stakeholders, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative, high-quality engineering solutions from concept through to manufacture.
Location
The base location is Balmoral Tanks Limited; Llantrisant, Pontyclun. There will be a requirement from time to time to work at other locations, including Customers’ sites in the UK and overseas.
What you’ll be doing
- Operate a safe working environment in line with company policies & procedures
- Produce general arrangement (GA), production and detailed drawings and parts lists of Balmoral and client products from in house and client provided information
- Communicate with our clients to develop project solutions and GA drawings to meet their needs and fulfil the project budget
- Assist in the development of engineering design
- Produce information in the form of drawings and specifications which allows the contracts, projects and production departments to perform their functions efficiently
- Contribute to the continuing improvement programme to reduce costs and raise quality
- Assist with the development of custom design software and techniques
- Produce information to safely meet client and in house deadlines and to advise early of any anticipated delays
- Operate a safe working environment and ensure all relevant company procedures and policies are adhered to in the performance of the above duties

What we’re looking for
Required:
- HNC or HND in a recognised engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of 3D Modelling and Drawing software
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Autodesk Software (Inventor, Vault)
- Ability to assist in Project Management
- Familiar with Draughting standards such as BS8888
- Knowledge of Sectional/Modular Storage Tanks
Experience:
Required:
- 2 years’ draughting experience
Desirable:
- 4 years’ draughting experience
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
