This opportunity will incorporate both on the job training and development and full support whilst you complete a degree course distance learning with The Robert Gordon University.

 

With our team of qualified engineers supporting you throughout your journey, you will have the benefit of becoming a fully qualified engineer with 4 years paid work experience behind you.

 

LOCATION

 

The base location is Balmoral Park, Aberdeen. There may be a requirement from time to time to work at other locations, including Customers’ sites nationally and internationally.

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB'S FUNCTION

 

To be an integral part of a thriving Product research & development team, which produces innovative design solutions for new products as well as optimises existing Balmoral products to meet the demands of our clients in an evolving industry.

 

The successful candidate will experience and participate within the creative and enthusiastic engineering research and design environment. The role will require making the best use of their ability and through the use of state of the art tools available to them. The jobholder should, when required, show the ability to work independently with appropriate supervision/mentorship as well as show initiative and innovation in all areas of their work within a supportive team.

 

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to study towards a BEng (HONS) in ENGINEERING: DESIGN & MANUFACTURE alongside continuous learning and development on the job.

 

 

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBHOLDER, BUT NOT LIMITED TOO;

 

The environment the successful candidate experiences will allow their development of the following:

  • To design and oversee company products from initial concept in to production.

  • To use engineering tools efficiently.

  • To communicate technical product information across departments.

  • To assist with the development of custom design tools.

  • To be focused on innovative and creative opportunities.

  • To formulate test procedures.

  • To define and supervise validation trials.

  • To contribute to the continuing effort to reduce costs.

  • To assist with the management of engineering data using engineering data management software.

  • Assist and contribute towards the development of the department, company standards and ultimately our product range.
